The 1986 Continental 8-foot white enclosed trailer was reported stolen from its parking lot on the 4100 block of Maple St on Feb. 12, 2024. The Michigan license plate affixed to the trailer is D908342. The vehicle information number (VIN) for the trailer is 411530. The trailer is dented in the front and has a silver panel by its tongue. It does not have a side entry door. The Dearborn Police Department is asking anyone with information that could assist with their investigation to call 313-943-2289. Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin stated, “The trailer is used for the storage and transportation of donated toys that bring joy to countless families and their children during the holiday seasons. We ask the community to help in any way possible in this investigation to help us locate it, as quickly as possible.”6Like3

DEARBORN POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyDearborn Police respond to possible shooting at Fairlane Town Center Mall DEARBORN, MI — At 2:56 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 15, 2024, the Dearborn Police Department received a report of a possible incident of gun violence that occurred inside the Fairlane Town Center Mall. Dearborn Police officers arrived on the scene at 18900 Michigan Ave and determined that a physical altercation occurred between two individuals when a third person pulled out a firearm and fired a single bullet. The individual involved in firing the weapon was arrested by DearbornPolice shortly thereafter. Police also recovered the firearm without incident. No injuries were reported to have been sustained by those involved. The incident remains under investigation. Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin stated, “ The safety of our residents and visitors is our main priority. While it is fortunate that no one was injured in this case, the reckless actions of those involved threatened the safety of others and damaged the degree of trust and peace of mind that everyone in our community deserves to have when they visit, shop, learn, work, or go about their lives in our city. Dearborn Police Department responded to the school at approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning after a shell casing was found on the school’s premises. Dearborn Police Department officers alongside firearm detection K9s from Taylor Police Department, West Bloomfield Police Department, Michigan State Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), conducted a thorough sweep of the school. Police conclude no immediate threats to the school, its students and staff, and the surrounding community. Investigators have determined this to be an isolated incident and continue to look into the source of the shell casing. Dearborn Chief of Police Issa Shahin stated, “We thank our partner agencies for immediately providing crucial resources and coordination to assist in our investigation and for Dearborn School District officials for their work in securing a soft lockdown. DEARBORN POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyDearborn Police make arrest in violent home invasion WARNING: The following release contains graphic information DEARBORN, MI – On March 17, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., Dearborn Police officers responded to a residence near Southfield Rd and Outer Dr following a reported home invasion and assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered two elderly female residents who had been severely abused and sexually assaulted by an unknown adult male who illegally entered their home. Dearborn Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel rendered medical aid to the victims immediately at the scene and prepared them for transport to an area hospital. Both victims are currently receiving treatment at the hospital for injuries caused by the violent attack. Dearborn Police used evidence and reports from eyewitnesses in the neighborhood to track down the suspected perpetrator at a nearby motel where they were taken into police custody on Sunday afternoon. The individual’s identity is being withheld pending official charges from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released at a later date. Investigators believe the individual in custody acted alone and that there is no further threat to the public. Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin stated, “The crime committed in our community over the weekend is shocking and horrifying. I applaud and thank the community members who assisted our officers in swiftly bringing the perpetrator to justice and protected our residents from any further threat. DEARBORN POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyDearborn Police seek to identify individual involved in home invasion; ask residents to exercise caution DEARBORN, MI – The Dearborn Police Department are seeking the community’s assistance identifying an individual involved in a home invasion. On March 4, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., the unidentified male approached the front door of a residence in the 7600 block of Barrie. He activated the video doorbell and attempted to open the locked front door after receiving no answer. The male entered the home through an unsecured window, stealing items from inside. The individual was captured by other video surveillance fleeing the home through adjoining backyards. The Department has information that leads them to believe this individual may be connected to a string of breaking-and-entering incidents in other parts of the country, using a similar method. The Dearborn Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual involved in this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2240. Anonymous tips may be submitted to CrimeStoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Dearborn residents are reminded by the Dearborn Police to keep their doors and windows locked, stay cautious, and be alert.
