@TheStig :
Nothing has changed for me. But I was very careful with money from the get go so I would have money after retirement.

@TheStig :
I rarely buy anything if it isn't on sale or I don't have a coupon for. I split my shopping between little Kroger, Aldi and HEB. I stock up on the deals.

No change, but we've always spent our money wisely. At this point, if we need it, we buy it. And often if we want it, we buy it. As they say, you can't take it with you.

@GiggleMugs : I do the same. I start studying the ads on Tuesday night and load up the digital coupons. We mostly eat what's on sale. Going back to HEB tomorrow to get a few more of the 2/$4 salads as we both like those.

I have always lived on the adage that "There is a BIG Difference Between Want, and Need". I lived in a high tax bracket growing up, and learned quickly, that money does Not really make one happy. It CAN be fun, don't get me wrong, but I would not chase a financial 'dream', and ruin myself, attaining it However, I do cut back on going out to eat, do Not drive through " Eightbucks", or have someone do my nails, any longer, because I am just Not going to be a victim of the current and obnoxious price hikes, tip begging, and more. I will Stay in my Lane, and spend on what I Want to spend on, and be a happy camper.

I keep to my budget. Nothing has changed for us.
The bigger changes came because of hubs diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes- so we eat more beans, barley, steel cut oatmeal instead of potatoes,pasta and rice. Less snacky food - more food thats high in protein.
As far as eating out we keep it down to once a week as we always have.
We've never had it in our budget for movies, concerts- entertainment like that. We tend to be outdoorsy so we budget for those things- hiking boots, trekking sticks, biking gear.
We did splurge on 2 new bikes- gravel ones. We would not have bought those if we didnt have money saved
We have been on a budget for ao many years its just automatic

@LittleTexas :
Some HEB deals are too good....like the fudge cookies 5/$5 with the yellow coupon. That's less than half price.
I also bought the Energizer 16 AA batteries with their $5 yellow coupon. Ends up 9.97....not too bad.

We rarely eat out and don't spend on jewelry, clothes or things we don't need. Have always been frugal and happy.

Butler just told me that people are going on vacation on the credit card and plan on paying it off in 3 months. 29% of the people are doing this. So instead of saving before the vacation they will charge it and it will cost 30% more than it should. This is unbelievable to me. But no pill for stupid.

@TheStig: I don't go crazy with spending but I don't really deprive myself, either!
