What is event insurance and how does it work? ›

Special event insurance is an insurance policy that helps protect your investment in a specific event, such as a wedding. Event insurance may help cover your costs if you unexpectedly need to cancel your event or if you're found responsible for property damage or an injury caused during your event.

It can reimburse up to 100% of your ticket costs if you can't attend your event due to a covered illness, injury, traffic accident, and more.

Special Event Liability Insurance

Example: A guest at your wedding slips and falls on the dance floor, requiring emergency medical treatment. A liability special event insurance policy can cover their medical bills up to the limits specified in your policy.

The word 'event' is commonly used in insurance to describe a sudden, accidental and unforeseen situation that may have caused damage to your property. The event may mean that you need to make a claim with your insurer.

Event insurance helps protect you from liability in case someone is injured or damages the venue's property.

You can buy one-time short-term “special events policies” (which is typically a general liability policy) from a number of sources. These policies will typically cover you, some of your materials and anyone attending. It may be required by the venue or organizer of the event, as well.

Damage or destruction due to vandalism, fire and certain natural disasters are all usually covered. So is your liability if someone is injured on your property. Certain catastrophes, like flooding or earthquakes, are generally not covered by basic homeowners policies and require specialized insurance.

Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase unless the performance is cancelled. If the ticket holder is unable to attend the rescheduled event a full refund will be offered *excluding delivery fees.

Can you add insurance after buying ticket? ›

The short answer is: It's not too late! You absolutely can buy travel insurance after booking your trip. However, it's always best to purchase insurance as early in the process as possible. If you procrastinate, you may miss out on certain benefits.

Purchased tickets through Ticketmaster are non-refundable. This also applies when you have chosen Klarna as payment method. If the event is cancelled, the ticket is refunded according to the promoter's guidelines and within 60 days after the date of the event. The service charge is not refundable.

If the train is marked as "CANCELLED" in Passenger Reservation System (PRS) due to breaches, floods, accidents etc., full refund is permissible in case the ticket is cancelled within three days of the scheduled departure of the train. In case of e-tickets, such cancellation can be done by the customer through Internet.

With Event Ticket Insurance, if you can't attend an event for a number of reasons like covered illness, airline delays, traffic accidents and more — you'll get 100% of the ticket price returned to you.

The event insured against in ordinary life insurance is the death of the life assured from disease or accident. It is immaterial whether the death is caused by me accidental causes or even due to the criminal act of a third party. A contract to be valid must satisfy the element of legality of consideration and object.
