Is Marion Grasby still married? ›

These days, Grasby lives in Noosa with husband Tim Althaus, and their two children. She runs her own Thai-inspired food company, Marion's Kitchen, and recently launched CookDineHost, a one-stop online shop for her cookbooks, kitchen kit and homewares.

The Marion's Kitchen journey started in 2010. Cook, media publisher and businesswoman Marion Grasby, together with her mum Noi, set out to create a range of tasty food products for people who love eating and living well.

Al Grassby, who had been treated for cancer, died on 23 April 2005, two days after suffering a heart attack, after several months' pneumonia.

Her heritage is Thai on her mother's side and Australian on her father's side. Grasby was influenced by her mother Noi, a professionally trained Thai chef and credits her with inspiring her with a natural love of food.

Although Grasby didn't win — the 2010 crown ultimately went to Adam Liaw, who is of Malaysian descent — MasterChef Australia was a life-changing experience for her. She took advantage of her fame and popularity on the cooking reality show to launch her career in food and entrepreneurship.

The Hon. Al Grassby AM (1926-2005) was born in Brisbane of a second-generation Spanish father and an Irish mother. He was a journalist before becoming the Labour member for Murrumbidgee NSW (1965-1969). He was Minister for Immigration (1972-1974) under the Whitlam government and a keen advocate for multiculturalism.

Is Mama Noi a professional chef? Yes, starting her culinary education in Bangkok, Mama Noi completed her professional chef certificates in Australia and has worked in professional kitchens, cooking western dishes and cuisines from all over Asia.

Marianne Lumb became a private chef in 2000, working across the UK, America, Australia and the Mediterranean, gaining extensive knowledge of seasonal cuisine. Her clients have included George Soros, and the Sainsbury and Bamford families.
