What I love about this dish: it’s a quick and easy one pan chicken dinner; a balanced meal in one pan. How easy is that?! The chicken has a crispy coating and a flavorful center that is sure to please.

Plus, roasting vegetables in the ovenbrings out their natural sweetness and preserves all of their wonderful nutrition. I’m so happy my son ate his vegetables, even if it meant each bitewas dipped in ranch ;).I’m a busy mom with 2 young kids soI’m always on the lookout for easy and healthyfamily-friendly dinners. Also, I despise dirtydishes.

If you can relate, or if you’re just a little “hangry” right now, this recipe is for you! Big-‘ol thank you to the folks at Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® who sponsored this recipe and came up with the seasoning that takes this one pan chicken dinner to a very delicious place.

3. Place bread crumbs in a shallow bowl. Shake offany excess marinade from chicken then dip in bread crumbs, turning to coat evenly. Transfer to baking sheet. It’s ok if veggies are a little crowded butkeep at least a sliver of space between chicken breasts for optimal crispiness. Spray or drizzle the chicken with oil if desired to get a golden crust.

FAQs

Can you bake raw chicken and vegetables in the same pan? ›

Sheet Pan Chicken and Veggies Directions

Line a large sheet pan with foil and evenly spread chicken and vegetable mixture on top of sheet pan. Bake at 475 degrees for 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are fork tender. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Why do we cook vegetables and chicken separately? ›

Cooking can kill most food poisoning organisms – it is important not to spread the organisms from the raw food back to the cooked food. Keeping raw and cooked food separate stops the bacteria from raw food re-contaminating cooked food.

How to cook a lot of chicken at one time? ›

Use multiple cooking pots: If you need to cook a large amount of chicken, you may need multiple pots, like multiple slow cookers or roasting pans. You'll want to avoid overstuffing a single pot so the chicken can cook evenly and thoroughly.

Do you cook chicken or vegetables first in a pan? ›

Chicken generally takes longer to cook than vegetables, so starting the stir-frying process by frying off your chicken first is the way to go. To prevent it from getting dry, remove it from the pan once it's brown before cooking the vegetables.

Can you cook meat then cook veggies in the same pan? ›

You can cook your meat and veggies in the same skillet, but cook the meat first, take it out, and then add in your veggies.

How long does raw chicken take to cook in a pan? ›

Pan-fried chicken breast recipe

2. Heat the oil in a frying pan then add the chicken breasts (skin-side down, if they have skin) and cook for 2-3 minutes or until browned. Then turn over, cover and cook on the other side for 7-8 minutes or until cooked through.

Can you cook other things in a pan with raw chicken? ›

Always cook your chicken in a separate pan than your produce. This helps you control how quickly your chicken cooks, but also reduces cross-contamination and food-borne illness. For more tips on food safety at home, view our Easy Guide to Chicken and Food Safety.

How do chefs get chicken so tender? ›

Brining: Brining is a process where chicken is soaked in a solution of water, salt, and sometimes sugar before cooking. This helps the chicken absorb moisture, resulting in juicier and more tender meat. 3. Tenderness Enhancers: Some restaurants use natural tenderizing agents like kiwi, papaya, or pineapple.

Does chicken get more tender the longer it cooks? ›

Unlike chicken breasts, chicken thighs and drumsticks actually become more tender the longer they cook. That's because of their makeup. Dark meat has an abundant amount of connective tissue, which dissolves into gelatin as the meat cooks, rendering it juicy and tender.

Is 2 hours long enough to cook a chicken? ›

For tender, fall-off-the-bone meat and soft skin, roast whole chicken at 325°F (162°C) for 1 ½ to 2 hours, depending on the weight. For firm, juicy meat and crisp, golden-brown skin, roast whole chicken 425°F (218°C) oven for 45 minutes to 1 ½ hours, depending on size.

Is 30 minutes long enough to cook chicken? ›

Here's the shortest answer we can give you: For large boneless, skinless chicken breasts: cook them 20 to 30 minutes in a 375 degrees F oven. For large bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts: cook them 35 to 40 minutes in a 375 degrees F oven.

Is it safe to cook raw chicken and veggies together? ›

Is it safe to roast vegetables with chicken? Yes, unlike roasting a turkey filled with stuffing, vegetables that roast under chicken have enough space to properly cook through. It's best to choose hearty vegetables that will cook in roughly the same amount of time as the chicken, like carrots, potatoes, and onions.

Can you put raw chicken in a pan with vegetables? ›

Place the chicken slightly spaced apart and add vegetables around the chicken evenly on a pan uncovered. I suggest placing chopped onions close to the Chicken for additional flavor. Bake for 35-45 minutes.

Can you cook chicken in the same pan as other things? ›

Cooking other things in the same pan used to cook chicken is fine. The chicken is cooked, not raw. You should drain off any excess grease, and possibly wipe down the pan with a paper towel.

Can you bake meat and vegetables together? ›

It is super quick to chop, throw together, roast in the oven, and serve. If you can plan ahead a bit, marinate the meat for a richer taste, but it's not absolutely necessary when in a tight time crunch. Roasting beef and vegetables is of the healthiest ways to prepare these two classics.
